Forkcast ("we," "us," or "our") provides a household meal-planning app and website at getforkcast.co. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Forkcast, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

We collect information you provide and information generated when you use Forkcast:

• Account information — email address, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), and display name.
• Profile & media — profile photos and recipe photos you upload.
• Household content — recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, preferences, and other content you create or share within a household.
• Invites — email addresses you enter when inviting others to join a household.
• Usage & device data — basic technical information such as app version, device type, and crash or diagnostic data needed to keep the service reliable.

We use the information above to:

• Create and manage your account and household memberships
• Provide meal planning, recipes, shopping lists, and related features
• Send household invite emails and essential service communications
• Improve, secure, and troubleshoot the app and website
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your household content for third-party advertising.

We may share information in these limited cases:

• Household members — content you add to a household is visible to other members of that household.
• Service providers — trusted vendors who help us operate Forkcast (for example hosting, authentication, email delivery, and storage). They process data only on our instructions.
• Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Forkcast or others.

We retain your account and household content for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or operational reasons.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• You can update profile details and household content in the app.
• You can leave a household or remove content you control, subject to household sharing rules.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

Forkcast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Forkcast may be operated from servers located outside your country of residence. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed in countries with different data-protection laws than your own.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of Forkcast after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
